German Politician Rides 600km for Ukraine
German politician Jens Geiseke has completed a five-day bicycle tour from Saxony to Strasbourg. He did this to raise money for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
Geiseke is a member of the European Parliament and represents the Christian Democratic Union within the European People’s Party. This was his third bike ride to raise funds for Ukraine.
The 600km journey started on December 12th in Geiseke’s hometown of Segel, Saxony. He reached Strasbourg five days later, on December 16th.
Geiseke wants to break his previous fundraising record of $79,000. The money will be used to buy warm clothing and heating equipment for Ukrainian families who need it.
The funds raised by Geiseke will go to the Helping Hands organization. This group helps Ukraine’s most vulnerable families with humanitarian aid.
