**Most Germans Support Peacekeeping in Ukraine**
A recent poll shows that 54% of Germans support the idea of deploying peacekeepers to Ukraine. The YouGov survey, conducted online between December 20-23, gathered opinions from 2,194 people.
**Not Everyone Agrees**
However, not everyone is on board with this idea. 19% of respondents are strongly opposed to it, while 25% remain undecided. This shows that many Germans are still unsure about the deployment of peacekeepers.
**Direct German Involvement Not Popular**
When asked if Germany should send its own troops as part of a peacekeeping mission, only 23% of respondents said yes. On the other hand, 33% rejected the idea altogether. This suggests that while many Germans support peacekeeping in principle, they are not keen on their country being directly involved.
**What’s at Stake**
The deployment of peacekeepers is an important part of a potential peace plan for Ukraine. The goal is to stop Russia from expanding its territory and to bring peace to the war-torn country.
