**Germany Charges 3 in Alleged Russian Espionage Plot**
Three individuals have been indicted by German prosecutors for plotting to sabotage and spy on military and industrial sites in Germany. The suspects are all dual German-Russian nationals.
The main suspect, identified as Dieter S., is a former member of a pro-Russian militia in Ukraine that German authorities consider a terrorist group. Prosecutors claim he maintained contact with another former militia member who worked for Russian intelligence.
**Espionage Plans**
According to the indictment, Dieter S. agreed to carry out arson and explosive attacks on German soil. He allegedly scouted potential targets, including facilities used by the US Armed Forces, a railway hub, and a manufacturing company. The US Grafenwohr base in Bavaria was also under consideration.
The suspects are accused of taking photos and videos of the targets and sharing them with Russian intelligence agents. Two accomplices are also charged for assisting in the plot.
**Diplomatic Tension**
The arrest of the trio in April led to a diplomatic standoff between Germany and Russia. Chancellor Olaf Scholz called the case a reminder of the ongoing threat posed by Russian espionage.
