**Germany Sends New Military Aid to Ukraine**
The German Ministry of Defense has announced a new military aid package for Kyiv, which includes air defense systems, ammunition, and self-propelled anti-aircraft systems. This is the latest move by Germany to support Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
**Key Deliveries**
The new aid package contains several key items, including:
* 15 Leopard 1 A5 tanks
* Two Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems with spare parts
* Three HIMARS systems (used to strike Russian ammunition depots)
* 30 MRAP armored vehicles with mine protection
* One PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer
* 12 armored vehicles equipped with kinetic defense systems
* Seven Caracal air-landing vehicles
**Air Defense Systems**
Germany has also delivered an IRIS-T SLM air defense system with missiles and two Patriot missile launchers. These systems are crucial for Ukraine’s defenses, as they can intercept cruise and ballistic missiles.
**Russian Strikes**
Recently, Russia launched a strike on Kyiv, killing two people and injuring 13. However, the country’s air defense shot down all of the missiles using Patriot systems. The debris from the intercepted missiles caused destruction and casualties.
