Germany will send two more air defense systems, called IRIS-T, to Ukraine by the end of the year. This was announced by Major Freuding on 25.

The two new systems will include one that can shoot down targets from a medium range (SLM) and another that can shoot down targets from a short range (SLS). These systems are part of a bigger package that Germany is sending to Ukraine to help protect it from enemy attacks.

**Ukraine Already Has Several Air Defense Systems**

This new delivery will bring the total number of IRIS-T air defense systems Ukraine’s arsenal to seven. The previous five were delivered earlier this year, with the sixth one promised by Volodymyr Zelensky on November 13 after a call with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The IRIS-T system can shoot down aircraft, helicopters, drones, and cruise . It’s considered state-of-the-art technology that will help Ukraine defend itself against enemy attacks.

**Germany’s Support for Ukraine Continues**

This new delivery is part of a bigger commitment from Germany to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia. Earlier this month, the German government announced a new military package featuring howitzers, vehicles, and hundreds of drones. This package will help Ukraine’s defense capabilities even more.
