**Georgia’s Opposition Calls for Action**
A member of the “Unity National Movement“, Gia Japaridze, is urging the international community to take concrete steps in support of Georgia. He made this statement at a joint briefing with representatives from four opposition parties.
Japaridze stressed that the demands of the opposition remain unchanged. The main requirements are:
* The release of all detainees who are considered political prisoners
* Holding re-elections, which is seen as the only way out of the crisis created by the ruling party “Georgian Dream”
**Consequences of Inaction**
Japaridze warned that if Georgia’s visa-free travel to the European Union is stopped, it will be a direct result of the actions (or lack thereof) taken by the current government.
