Gia Khukhashvili, an expert, said that Salome Zurabishvili could save the model if she ran for the position as prime minister.
Salome Zurabishvili, as Khukhashvili said in “360 Degrees”, a program of “PalitraNews”, will pass this path most efficiently because she has the greatest weight in the international communities.
“I’m sure that her [Salome Zurabishvili] nominee will be an intriguing person, but this project will never be completed no matter who presents it.” I know what the moods are of the parties. No matter how “Girchi”, the speaker, may speak, confrontation is not desirable. It will only harm everything and benefit the government. Salome Zurabishvili is the only candidate who can save this model today. If we are talking that this is a technical, temporary government whose main function will be to return Georgia back to the European path and that after that, the technical government will resign, then the most effective method will be for the president to control the process, as she has the greatest weight in the international community. If she were to consider becoming one of the candidates for the position as prime minister of opposition after the election, the parties could not complain, because they would be held responsible for the results of the elections,” Khukhashvili stated.
According to her assessment, the president may be angry today because of the positions taken by the opposition parties, and act more categorically but, according to him, we all will lose. “Ultimately, it will be the president who loses. It is not the right time to start a debate. I would like to put an end to the controversy and focus on the elections. In this context, let us go to the election and return the country back to the European path”, Khukhashvili said.
He said that he spoke with Salome Zurabishvili regarding Zurabishvili’s candidacy for the position as Prime Minister. The President was not categorical on this issue.
According to Khukhashvili however, the president later changed her position.
“I had a discussion with Salome Zurabishvili. It is difficult to comprehend why this burden should not be carried. I told her this issue would be easily resolved, and that the formula was to raise her concern. In this situation, the parties will have no room for maneuver and all issues will be agreed. It was risky to bring in an alternative. After speaking with her, I was optimistic because she did not state categorically that she would not be discussing this issue. Later, when the voice reached Khukhashvili, I understood why and how she had not agreed to this.
