**Parliament Member Calls Presidential Lawsuit “Absurd”**
The first vice-speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Gia Volski, has spoken out against a lawsuit filed by President Salome Zurabishvili. The president is asking the Constitutional Court to declare last month’s elections unconstitutional.
Volski says this lawsuit is groundless and absurd. He points out that it’s unrealistic to assume that the newly elected parliament won’t meet before the court makes its decision.
**Election Controversy**
The president has accused the election authorities of violating the secrecy of votes and not holding free and universal elections. Volski, however, says this claim is a “huge hypocrisy” and a plan to discredit the Constitutional Court.
He also poked fun at the idea that hundreds of thousands of people were somehow able to guess which party a small mark on a ballot was for, even though nothing was found to support this claim.
**Parliament Will Meet**
Volski emphasized that the parliament will meet as scheduled, despite the lawsuit. He said it’s time to move forward and not let these accusations hold up important business.
