**Georgia’s Opposition Leader Demands Action from Western Partners**
Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, has appealed to Western partners of Georgia to take action against those responsible for rigging elections and democratic backsliding. He made this appeal at a briefing.
According to him, for Georgia to return to its path of European development, new elections are needed, along with changes in specific administrations. This would include the Central Election Commission, State Security Service, Public Defender, Special Investigation Service, Inspector of Personal Data Protection, and State Audit.
**Calling for Peaceful Protest**
Gakharia also called on citizens of Georgia to protest peacefully against the rigged elections. He urged everyone to express their discontent in a number of ways, so that the protest is widespread and well-organized across the country.
**Appeal to Western Partners**
The opposition leader made an appeal to Georgia’s Western partners, requesting them not to legitimize the rigged elections and the people who were illegally appointed to high positions. He asked them to use all available tools, including sanctions, against those responsible for stealing elections, falsifying results, democratic backsliding, and violence against citizens.
**Specific Action**
Gakharia specifically mentioned suspension of the visa-free regime as a possible tool that could be used against individuals who are guilty of these actions. He emphasized that any action should be targeted at the few people responsible, not against the Georgian people as a whole.
