Giorgi Gakharia is the chairman of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party. He responded to the remarks made by Mamuka Mdinaradze who is the executive secretary of the “Georgian Dream“. Gakharia described Mdinaradze’s statements as dangerous and delusional. Gakharia said that the growing hysteria within “Georgian Dream”, is a direct indicator of the declining support for ruling party, and the increasing support for his party.
“What Mamuka is delusional now, remains Mamuka’s delusion. They are entering a dangerous field,” Gakharia told journalists. He said that Mdinaradze “couldn’t even come near the floor where decisions are made” during his tenure in office. This suggests that Mdinaradze’s influence was minimal.
Gakharia pointed out that former Prime Minister Bidzinaivanishvili was the real force behind “Georgian Dream” statements and actions. He accused Ivanishvili of damaging the country’s sovereignty and non-recognition policies, and of prioritizing his financial interests over national safety. Gakharia emphasized Ivanishvili’s role in orchestrating current political situations, describing it a betrayal to Georgia’s national interests.
“They’re entering a dangerous field and I’ll explain why: I’m already thinking about whether it’s time, after the election, to create a commission of parliament that will deal with the issues listed by the ruling party,” Gakharia continued, indicating that Gakharia is considering forming a parliamentary investigation to investigate the concerns raised by the ruling group. He said that the commission will reveal much more information after the elections.
Mamuka Mamdinaradze had accused Gakharia that he was no different than ordinary members of a collective agency and suggested that Gakharia got orders from “common owner.” Mdinaradze questioned Gakharia’s rise from the Ministry of Internal Affairs into Prime Minister, suggesting that it was a homage to his “owners.”
