According to Giorgi Kalandarishvili the chairman of Central Election Commission, the information about the duplications of the unified voter lists is unfounded.
The international auditing company confirmed, as he said in today’s briefing that electronic technologies are working properly.
“An international auditing firm confirmed that electronic technologies were working smoothly. We have submitted the official results of the first phase audits. They are confirmed and will be made public to all parties involved as soon as they are translated. This includes the manipulation of the issue that there were duplicate lists in the unified voting lists, especially the verification part. This is just as unfounded as the fact that, under paper trail conditions and while the lists were fully auditorable, all parties were able to access voter lists printed by all verification machines. The American company confirmed it today, pointing out the technologies were in line with local legislation, international standards and good practices,” said Giorgi Kaandarishvili.
According to information in the media, citizens could vote at different polling stations in the country multiple times. According to information available, they had multiple identity documents.
