Natia Ioseliani, CEC spokesperson, responded to the opposition members’ request to schedule an urgent meeting to discuss re-election.
Ioseliani, who spoke to journalists, said that the CEC sessions will be held in compliance with the law.
“The process of considering complaints in the court is ongoing, and once this process is completed, a CEC session will be held. After reviewing the appeals at the court, district election commissions will summarize the results of the parliamentary polls held on October 26. Then, there will be legal procedures and finally, a CEC session where the results will be summarized. Sessions will be conducted in accordance with law. Ioseliani stated that the election administration cannot and will not act in accordance with the political agenda.
According to her, representatives of international organizations and CEC members attended the printing of ballots and summary minute.
“The sole interest of the electoral administration was, is, and will continue to be the respect for fundamental principles at the polling station. The election administration has done this in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. The CEC will never violate the law. No matter what its political agenda, it cannot and will not!” Ioseliani said.
She says that the information that Giorgi Kaandarishvili is hiding, as the Chairman of Central Committee of Central Committee, is a lie. Natia Ioseliani explained that the CEC used all legal bases, including administrative and technical measures, to preserve the principle secrecy during the elections.
“Giorgi Kaandarishvili works in his office. Therefore, the information that he’s hiding is a falsehood,” Ioseliani stated.
