**Georgian Ex-Police Chief Refuses to Cooperate with Probe**
Giorgi Targamadze, a former high-ranking police chief in Georgia, has decided not to take part in an investigation into the 2008 war between Russia and Georgia.
Targamadze stated that he does not want to be involved in what he believes is a “sideshow” organized by Moscow and the separatist government of South Ossetia (Tskhinvali). He fears that his participation could undermine Georgian statehood and its territorial integrity.
In other words, Targamadze thinks that taking part in this investigation could be used to make Georgia look bad.
