Giorgi Vashadze told journalists that he thought the footballers made a mistake by taking part in the political clip for the pro-Russian forces.
According to him the footballers took part in the clip by the political group who oppose Georgia‘s membership in the European Union.
“I have a great deal of respect for footballers, especially those of the Georgian National Team, and I believe they made a mistake by participating in a video of a pro Russian force. They are very popular in Georgia because of the European Championship. We want to bring all of Georgia to this event. They played in the European Championship and we want to join the European Union. Yet, a political party opposes this and participated in its clip. Vashadze said, “I think they made a mistake.”
Vashadze, in response to the question of bullying football players, says that “society is entitled to express its opinion”.
“Go and see the banners for “Georgian Dream“. What greater pressure could the political forces exert if they hung me up on those banners? Do you think my son is happy to walk around and look at these banners when he looks at them? Can the political force who does this ask for something?” – Vashadze said.
In the new clip “Georgian Dream”, there are representatives from various fields including the football team, Otar Kakabadze. Otar Kiteishvili. Giorgi Gvelesiani.
