**Leader Accuses Ivanishvili of Regime’s Inaction**
Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Builder, claims that Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime is behind his attack on Rustaveli Avenue. He made this accusation at a press conference yesterday.
According to Vashadze, he was attacked by a person with a sharp screwdriver while walking on Rustaveli Avenue with peaceful demonstrators. The attacker, identified as Davit Edisherashvili, repeatedly tried to hit him in the head and throat. Witnesses were able to seize the screwdriver and Edisherashvili’s key, which contains an elevator chip that identifies him.
The police were notified of the incident, but no one arrived for over an hour and a half. Vashadze went to a medical facility to register his injuries, including open wounds on his head and cheek. Despite notifying the Ministry of Internal Affairs, no officials showed up.
Vashadze believes that the inaction of the police indicates that Ivanishvili’s regime is behind the attack. He personally accuses Bidzina Ivanishvili of ordering the attack through law enforcement agencies.
**Criminal Groups Operating with Police**
Vashadze also spoke out against what he sees as a broader problem in Georgia: criminal groups operating together with law enforcement agencies. He claims that these groups are beating people and journalists, detaining them on false charges, and bringing them to criminal responsibility.
He calls for the release of all detained prisoners and new elections in the country. Vashadze vows not to back down until Ivanishvili is removed from power.
**Incident Under Investigation**
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has stated that the incident is being investigated under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to violence.
