Givi Mikanadze, deputy of “Georgian Dream”, told journalists that the processes between Salome Zurabishvili, the opposition president and the representatives of radical wing were a sort of internal game. The charter had no prospects.
According to him the “Georgian Charter”, developed by the president, is in conflict with the Constitution.
“Any statement by Salome Zurabishvili directly shows that she went beyond constitution in every aspect. The constitution means nothing to him. According to the constitution the president does not have any authority over the formation of a government. Therefore, the document that was created by the president is incompatible with the constitution and gives absolutely nothing. It also has no prospects. It is inactive today and will remain so in the future because it has no chance of being implemented. The internal processes between Salome Zurabishvili, the opposition president, and the representatives of radical wing are therefore their own games. Mikanadze stated, “I can’t call this anything else.”
He also evaluated the President’s statement regarding the arrangement of coordination platform in the Orbeliani Palace on the day of elections and noted that this statement confirmed once again that Salome Zurabishvili was completely outside the frame of constitution.
“We are preparing with the Georgians only for a convincing win, for a majority constitutional. I can assure you that a big celebration will take place in the office yard [of “Georgian Dream”) on October 26. Even in the president’s statement yesterday, it was noted that he is out of the constitutional framework, does not protect neutrality, which is a principle that the president should protect, and that he is using administrative resources directly. Mikanadze stated that the organization of a platform, or the establishment of a coordination headquarters by the president is nothing more than the use of administrative resource and a violation of pre-election law.
