Givi Mikanadze says opposition has taken radical action, interfering directly with pre-election campaign

Mikanadze, at a briefing he held, highlighted several incidents where opposition groups were alleged to have damaged “‘s” posters and billboards. He criticised the refusal of some TV channels, such as “TV “, and ““, to air Georgian Dream commercials.
“The opposition and the subjects associated with them have taken radical actions which are manifested by direct interference in the campaign for the pre-election.” Mikanadze noted that the damage to banners belonging to the ‘Georgian Dream,’ as well as the non-launch of election ads are particularly concerning.
He cited specific incidents: “On the 16th of October, a member of ‘‘, Mamuka Jevaishi, damaged 2 billboards for ‘Georgian Dream,’ in Sarfi Village. On October 15, opposition leaders Khatia dekanoidze, and , damaged billboards in Kutaisi.
Mikanadze stressed that the opposition’s alleged acts are part of an ongoing attempt to undermine the “Georgian Dream” campaign. He called on local and international monitoring organisations to take note of the violations and reflect them properly in their reports.
