**Georgia’s Politician Accuses Parliament Commission of Being a “Russian Order”**
In a surprising move, politician Givi Targamadze has accused the temporary parliamentary investigative commission in Georgia of being directly influenced by Russia. Speaking to journalists at the courthouse yesterday, Targamadze stated that the commission was created to give Russian President Vladimir Putin a conclusion he can use against Ukraine.
According to Targamadze, the real purpose of the commission is to rewrite history and shift the blame for the war in Ukraine onto Georgia. He claims that this is a deliberate attempt by Russia to create a narrative that will be used to justify further aggression against Ukraine.
“This is a direct attempt to rewrite history,” said Targamadze. “They want to give Putin a conclusion as a gift, stating that we started the war ourselves, which he will later use against Ukraine, claiming that Ukraine started the war itself, and so on.”
Targamadze’s comments come as he faces charges related to his refusal to appear before the commission earlier this month. He has been charged under Article 349 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns failure to comply with a request by the temporary investigative commission.
**The Real Motive Behind the Commission?**
So what lies behind Targamadze’s accusation that the commission is a “Russian order”? It’s true that Russia has been accused of meddling in Georgian politics before, and this latest move seems like just another attempt to exert influence over the country.
One possible motive behind the commission is to create a narrative that will be used to justify further Russian aggression against Ukraine. By blaming Georgia for starting the war, Putin can then claim that Ukraine started it themselves, creating a self-perpetuating cycle of conflict.
**The Charges Against Targamadze**
Targamadze’s charges are relatively minor, and he faces a maximum fine or imprisonment for up to one year, as well as deprivation of his right to hold office or engage in professional activities for up to three years. Despite the seriousness of the charges, many see them as an attempt to silence Targamadze and prevent him from speaking out against the commission.
As the proceedings against Targamadze continue, it remains to be seen how this will play out. Will the commission be able to get away with rewriting history, or will their true motives be exposed? Only time will tell.
