The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, announced that the European Integration Commission has approved an action plan in response to recommendations from the European Commission. This decision was made during the 70th session of the European Integration Commission on November 27, which is headed by the Prime Minister of Georgia and includes representatives from various state agencies involved in the country’s European integration process.
According to Darchiashvili, the action plan outlines specific dates and steps that will be taken to implement the recommended reforms. The government of Georgia has expressed its readiness to actively cooperate with all interested parties and create platforms for discussion in order to ensure inclusivity in the reform process. The Minister emphasized the importance of inclusivity and stated that the government is committed to making reforms that benefit all citizens.
The action plan also includes measures to address the issue of deoligarchization, which was approved at a government meeting earlier in the day. This document was created prior to the European Commission’s recommendations and is a comprehensive plan to address oligarchic influence in the country.
Darchiashvili stressed that the government will continue to work closely with European partners to advance the reform agenda and bring Georgia closer to the European family. He emphasized that this is a long-term effort and a top priority for the government to improve the country’s institutions and legislation.
