According to Governor Alexander Bogomaz’s post on Telegram overnight on September 10, Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack on Russia’s Bryansk Oblast. However, the Kyiv Independent cannot confirm this claim and Ukraine has not yet commented on the alleged attack. Videos of explosions heard in Bryansk Oblast were shared on social media by local residents around 12:30 a.m. local time. Bogomaz stated that 21 Ukrainian drones were shot down by air defenses within an hour of the attack. Air raid alerts were also activated in nearby Lipetsk and Belgorod oblasts. There is currently no information available on any potential damage caused by the alleged attacks. In recent months, Ukrainian forces have been increasing their attacks on targets within Russian territory, with the aim of disrupting Russia’s oil industry and military production facilities. On September 1, dozens of drones reportedly targeted several Russian regions, with the Russian Defense Ministry claiming to have downed 158 drones.
