Russian Attacks on Kherson Leave 16 Injured, Including a Child
On December 7, Russian shelling struck residential areas in Kherson Oblast, injuring 16 people, including one child. The attack also damaged several buildings and vehicles.
According to Governor Oleksandr Prokudin, the enemy launched missile attacks on the Beryslavskyi district of the oblast, targeting residential areas and damaging private homes. A gas pipeline, a grain warehouse, and a gas station were also affected.
A 57-year-old man was injured by a Russian drone in Vesely and taken to hospital with leg injuries, according to reports from the Kherson Military Administration.
Kherson Oblast is frequently targeted by Russian attacks. On December 1, three people were killed and eight were injured, while on December 4, two people died and five were hurt.
The recent developments at the Ukrainian front line have led to a battle over small islands in the Dnipro River. Control of these islands would allow Moscow to intensify attacks on the city of Kherson.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that if international partners showed the same level of commitment, “Russian terror could already have been made impossible.”
Separately, Russian forces attacked Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing two people and injuring 17. The death toll rose to three on December 7.
