Serbian Opposition Leader Speaks Out Against US Envoy’s Statement
Borko Stefanovic, the deputy leader of Serbia‘s opposition Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), has strongly criticized a recent statement made by Richard Grenell, the US President’s envoy for special missions. Grenell had posted on X network that the US does not support those who forcefully take over government buildings.
Stefanovic responded to Grenell’s comment, saying it was shameful. He pointed out that violence in Serbia is only carried out by the Vucic regime, and that no one has taken control of government buildings by force. Stefanovic argued that the people of Serbia are rising up against a corrupt and dictatorial regime.
Grenell was also accused of supporting the outgoing dictator, Aleksandar Vucic, who has been criticized for his corruption and authoritarian rule. The opposition leader suggested that Grenell’s statement may be motivated by self-interest, as he would lose private deals with people in power if the current regime is removed.
Stefanovic concluded by promising that change is coming soon to Serbia. He expressed confidence that the corrupt regime will be ousted quickly, bringing an end to its abuse of power and corruption.
