**Pro-Friendship Act March in Georgia**
A rally was held in support of the ‘Friendship Act’ in Georgia. The act has bipartisan support and offers a chance for the country to change its political course.
Grigol Gegelia, a member of the ‘Strong Georgia‘ coalition, spoke at the rally. He said that the act is very important because it presents an opportunity for Georgia if the current government changes. However, if this does not happen, the act will impose sanctions on the current government.
President Trump has shown support for Senator Jim Risch, who is behind the ‘Friendship Act’. Gegelia said that it’s crucial for Georgians to show their partners, including the US, that they are committed to passing the act and changing the country’s path.
**Opposition Participation in Elections**
Gegelia also talked about the opposition’s participation in local self-government elections. He stated that discussing this issue now is impossible because the current government has hijacked the state and elections.
The opposition should be focusing on calling for new parliamentary elections, Gegelia said. He believes that bringing up the topic of local self-government elections is a distraction and serves the interests of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of the current government.
