**Georgian Official Criticizes EU Ambassador**
Guram Macharashvili, a deputy of the Georgian parliamentary majority, has spoken out against EU Ambassador Paweł Herczyński. Macharashvili criticized Herczyński for insulting Georgia’s state and society on multiple occasions.
Macharashvili said that Herczyński was bullied by his own supporters from abroad, as well as by the people and opposition in Georgia whom he had supported. He even criticized “his beloved” president, who is part of the parliamentary majority.
**EU Ambassador Under Pressure**
According to Macharashvili, this situation shows that someone who can’t make their own decisions and instead follows foreign powers will face criticism from all sides. He questioned why the EU ambassador wouldn’t meet with the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, saying it was “elementary” for an ambassador to have such a meeting.
**Meeting Between Ambassador and Minister**
Despite Macharashvili’s criticism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Minister Maka Bochorishvili did indeed meet with EU Ambassador Paweł Herczyński. The conversation reportedly touched on important aspects of relations between Georgia and the European Union.
