MP Guram Mcharashvili Responds to Criticism from US Politicians
Guram Mcharashvili, a member of parliament in Georgia, has spoken out against criticism from some US politicians. The US politicians, Joe Wilson, Michael McCaul, and Jim Risch, all members of the Republican Party, have expressed concerns about the Georgian government’s stance on relations with the US after January 20th.
Mcharashvili was asked to comment on these statements and responded by saying that the Georgian government has never considered January 20th a “sacred date”. He pointed out that the National Movement and Giorgi Gakharia had previously said that nothing would matter after January 20th, implying that anything should be done before then.
Mcharashvili also emphasized that the Georgian government’s goal is to have a partnership with the US, not a vassal relationship. He pointed out that Joe Wilson’s statements are less important than Trump inviting China’s President Xi Jinping to his inauguration, which he believes signals a normalization of US-China relations.
The MP expressed frustration that people are more focused on January 20th than the actual content of the Georgian government’s policies and goals. He said that the Georgian government has always wanted a partnership with the US, regardless of who is in power.
Mcharashvili also criticized Joe Wilson for making statements about Georgia without providing any solutions or plans. He pointed out that Wilson’s statements are more focused on criticizing the Georgian government than offering support or advice.
The MP concluded by saying that it is time to focus on the actual content of the Georgian government’s policies and goals, rather than speculating about January 20th.
