Belgian Politician Calls for EU Action in Georgia
Guy Verhofstadt, a former Prime Minister of Belgium and member of the European Parliament (MEP), has spoken out about recent events in Georgia. In a message on social media platform X, he said that the situation in the country requires action from the European Union.
Verhofstadt stated that there is “violent pressure” being put on opposition leaders in Georgia. He believes that this situation needs to be addressed by the EU. The MEP called for an extraordinary session of the European Council to take place and approve sanctions against those responsible for the violence.
