**Italy Fends Off Cyberattacks**
Italian cybersecurity officials say they have successfully stopped cyber attacks on the country‘s transportation and diplomatic systems.
The attacks happened on December 28. A group called NoName057(16) claimed responsibility. They are pro–Russian hackers who use Telegram to communicate.
Their goal was likely to disrupt Italy’s air travel and government operations. But Italian authorities say they were able to stop the attacks without any impact.
This comes after Italy decided to keep sending military aid to Ukraine until 2025. The NoName057(16) group has been attacking European targets, including Italy’s foreign ministry and Milan airports, in support of Russia’s actions against Ukraine.
