**Most Ukrainians Oppose Territorial Concessions and Giving Up NATO Membership**
A recent poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology found that 47.1% of Ukrainians consider it “completely unacceptable” to agree to territorial concessions and give up on NATO membership as a prerequisite to ending the war.
Only 8.2% of respondents said they would easily agree to this scenario, while 38.1% called it difficult but generally acceptable. The survey was conducted between February 5 and March 10, with 2,029 people taking part.
**War Continues**
Russian forces continue to occupy about 20% of Ukraine’s territory, subjecting the Ukrainian population under Russian occupation to systematic repression, torture, and abuse.
The situation is complicated by Russia’s refusal to compromise on issues like territorial concessions, peacekeepers, and Ukraine’s neutrality. Russian President Vladimir Putin has deliberately set “maximalist” demands, knowing they will likely be unacceptable to Kyiv and European nations.
**Talks in Saudi Arabia**
Meanwhile, Ukrainian and U.S. officials are meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss how to end the Russia-Ukraine war. The talks come after a first round of discussions in Saudi Arabia between the two countries’ delegations, where they discussed a potential ceasefire and minerals deal.
**Public Opinion**
According to the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, 87% of Ukrainians believe that Russia intends to continue its aggression beyond currently occupied territories. The Ukrainian population remains opposed to territorial concessions and giving up NATO membership, with only a small minority willing to make such compromises.
