Two of President-elect Donald Trump‘s picks are trying to win over the US Senate. They need approval before they can take their jobs.
The first one, Gabbard, is having trouble getting support. Some senators think she’s not ready for her job and might say things that aren’t true. One person said: “She was proving to be a little shallow.” Another person said: “I’ve heard not great things.”
Gabbard has made some people angry because of what she’s said about Syria and Russia. Now, some senators are thinking twice about voting for her.
The second one, Hegseth, seems to be doing better. Some senators think he’s a good choice now. One senator even said: “I think Pete’s going to get confirmed.”
Trump’s team says that both Gabbard and Hegseth will still get their jobs.
