Zelensky is worried that if Ukraine agrees to a ceasefire without strong security guarantees, it won’t be able to defend itself against future Russian aggression. He wants a strong army that can protect the country.

The Trump administration has been putting pressure on Ukraine to quickly negotiate an end to the war. But given Russia’s history of breaking ceasefires, many experts believe this will only lead to more problems for Ukraine.
**Russia’s Real Intentions**
According to Stephen Hall, a professor at the University of Bath, Russia is not interested in a ceasefire. Instead, it wants Ukrainian neutrality and to “denazify” and “demilitarize” the country. This would be a major blow to Ukraine’s sovereignty.
