**EU Suspends Visa Free Travel for Georgian Diplomats**
The European Union has made a decision to suspend visa-free travel for Georgian diplomats. This was confirmed by Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Kallas said that the decision was taken because of violence against protesters in Georgia. She stressed that democracies do not oppress opposition voices or curtail media freedom. The EU has also cut funding for the Georgian government.
**EU Stands with the People**
The EU wants to help the people of Georgia, not just the authorities. Kallas said that the future of Georgia should be decided by its people, not by those in power. She added that the EU will continue to support independent media and civil society groups in Georgia.
**A Symbolic First Step**
Kalla stressed that suspending visa-free travel for diplomats is only a first step. The EU wants to see more change in Georgia. Sanctions on Georgian officials who are behind the violence against protesters were also discussed, but no decision was made.
