**UK Firefighters Send Help to Ukraine**
Firefighters in the UK are sending equipment and vehicles to their counterparts in Ukraine. The convoy will take 30 fire engines, 700 pieces of equipment, and other vital supplies.
The Humberside Fire and Rescue service has donated some of this equipment. Their Chief Officer, Phil Shillito, is proud that his team can help. He said it’s a national effort to support Ukrainian firefighters.
**War Damage**
Since the Russian invasion in 2022, Ukrainian fire services have lost many resources. The Fire Industry Association says they’ve lost 1,700 vehicles and had 411 fire stations destroyed. Some firefighters even died in the war – 100 so far.
**UK Firefighters Act Together**
Many UK fire departments joined together for this effort. They worked with government agencies and other organizations to make it happen. A team of volunteers will take some of the donated equipment, including hoses and emergency supplies.
A Ukrainian firefighter said his country’s rescuers are working hard to keep people safe. He thanked their British friends for helping them out in their time of need.
