**Hungary Blocks EU Sanctions Against Georgia**
The European Union has been criticized for being hypocritical in its treatment of Georgia. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó made this comment, as reported by the country’s government spokesman Zoltan Kovács.
**Hungary and Slovakia Veto EU Sanctions**
Szijjártó vetoed proposed sanctions against top Georgian police leaders, along with his Slovak counterpart. He argued that Brussels was unfairly targeting Georgia because a conservative party won elections instead of liberal forces.
**Georgia’s Progress Under Conservative Rule**
The Hungarian Foreign Minister highlighted Georgia’s economic progress under the current government, which has been in power for 12 years. He noted that average incomes have tripled, per capita GDP has doubled, and foreign investments have increased significantly.
