**North Korean Troops Suffer Heavy Losses in Ukraine-Russia Conflict**
The Russian army has deployed thousands of North Korean soldiers to fight in the Kursk Oblast region. However, these troops have suffered significant losses and are now being replaced.
According to reports from Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, over 10,000 North Korean combat-ready troops were sent to the Kursk Oblast to help the Russian army take control of the area. The Russian and North Korean forces are operating together in composite units, but they have been experiencing difficulties due to successful attacks by Ukrainian forces.
**Heavy Casualties for North Korean Troops**
The Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) reported that on December 14-15, North Korean units suffered heavy losses near the villages of Plekhov, Vorozhba, and Martynovka. At least 30 North Korean soldiers were killed or wounded in these attacks.
Additionally, at least three North Korean soldiers went missing in the area near the village of Kurilovka. The HUR stated that due to these losses, assault groups are being replenished with fresh personnel from the 94th Separate Brigade of the North Korean troops to continue combat operations in the Kursk Oblast.
**Russian and North Korean Forces Face Challenges**
Analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War observed that language barriers and poor coordination are hindering joint operations between Russian and North Korean forces. The North Korean troops are facing difficulties due to high casualties and poor communication with Russian forces, disrupting coordination and undermining Russian military operations.
**Language Barriers Cause Tensions**
Earlier, there was an incident where North Korean forces opened fire at vehicles belonging to the Chechen “Akhmat” battalion, killing eight Chechen soldiers. This was reportedly caused by a language barrier between the Russian and North Korean troops.
