**Russia Plans to Launch 500 Drones Against Ukraine**
Ukraine’s military intelligence agency says Russia plans to launch at least 500 drones per aerial attack against the country. Vadym Skibitskyi, the deputy head of Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (HUR), made this statement in an interview with RBC Ukraine.
**Drone Warfare Heats Up**
Both Ukraine and Russia have invested heavily in drone technology during the war. Since the full-scale invasion began, Russia has launched thousands of drones at Ukraine. Currently, Russian forces use 150 to 200 drones per attack on a daily basis. However, they plan to increase this number to 500.
**Russian Drone Production Booms**
Russia is significantly increasing its domestic production of various types of drones, according to Skibitskyi. This includes combat and reconnaissance drones as well as “decoys,” which are drones without a payload. The increased drone capabilities will put a strain on Ukraine’s air defense system, making it difficult to distinguish between drones carrying warheads and those without.
**Ukraine Also Expands Drone Capabilities**
Ukraine has been continuously expanding its drone capabilities using aerial, naval, and ground-based systems for reconnaissance, precision strikes, and other operations. The country’s Unmanned Systems Forces announced that Ukrainian troops are now employing a long-range drone capable of traveling up to 2,000 kilometers while carrying a 250-kilogram air bomb.
