Hurricane threat forces Biden to postpone trip to Ramstein, Germany

The President Biden’ trip Germany has been cancelled due to concerns about the weather at home.
is expected to hit Florida the near future. This has forced US President to postpone his planned trips to Germany, and other countries.
According to White House spokesperson Karine Pierre, Biden will stay in the United States “to oversee preparations and response to hurricane Milton” and to monitor the ongoing recovery efforts following Hurricane Helen in southeastern United States.
The president was to attend the Ukraine Contact Group Meeting, which was held under the Ramstein format in Germany on the 12th October. This would have marked the first time that leaders met in person in this format.
Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s president, should have revealed the “victory plans” at the Ramstein meeting. He had presented it to US Vice President Joe Biden in , late September.
According to new steps in for Ukraine, especially regarding its North Atlantic Integration, are expected at Ramstein format meeting.
The cancellation of Biden’s trip is crucial for Ukraine’s defense efforts as well as its ambitions for closer ties to NATO. Since the beginning of Russia’s full scale invasion, the Ramstein format has been a crucial platform for coordinating military assistance to Ukraine.
