**Ukraine’s Nuclear Reduce Output After Russian Attacks**

The Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that three reduced electricity output after being attacked by Russia November 28. The attacks targeted energy infrastructure, which is common tactic used by Russia disrupt civilian life.

These are not the first attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Since October 2022, Russia has been targeting substations with missiles and drones. This time, three nuclear power plants – Khmelnytskyi, , and South Ukraine – were affected. They operate nine reactors in total.

The IAEA Director General, , said that these attacks put nuclear safety at great risk. He highlighted the extreme vulnerability of Ukraine’s energy systems and called for maximum restraint in areas with major nuclear energy facilities.

One reactor at the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant was completely disconnected from the grid. While there was no direct damage to the power plants themselves, electrical substations crucial for power transmission and reception were damaged again.
