The National Statistics Office of Georgia reports that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.3% from the previous month in October 2024, making it the annual inflation rate. Core inflation rose by 1.2%.
The following categories are most affected by inflation:
* Restaurants and hotels: Prices rose 7.6%, primarily due to accommodation and catering services. This contributed 0.26 percentage points to the overall inflation rate. Each sector contributed to an increase of 10.4% and 6,8% respectively.
* Education: The sector experienced a 5.0% increase in prices, contributing 0.25 points to the overall rate of inflation.
* Other Services and Product: Prices in this group increased by 5.8%, contributing 0.3% to the overall inflation rate. Personal effects, with 24,5%, and Insurance, at 12,9%, were the two main areas of influence.
