In October, Russian occupiers launched 2,023 drones of the Shahed and unidentified types against civilian and military targets across Ukraine.
Russia continues to launch deliberate daily air strikes on residential areas, in an attempt to terrorize civilians. Every night, the Russian forces launch dozens – usually Iranian designed – Shahed 131 and 136 long-range “kamikaze drones. They also often launch several missiles.
According to a report from the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, 1,185 of these unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed or suppressed, 738 were lost and 29 drones left Ukraine’s controlled space.
The statement stated that “since the beginning of 2024 the enemy has launched 6,987 drones against Ukrainian territory.”
The General Staff also added that enemy drones were primarily targeting civilian and critical infrastructures in Ukraine.
Ukrainian military authorities said that “anti-aircraft missile forces and aviation, electronic warfare, and mobile firing groups continue to protect Ukraine’s skies around the clock.”
On 3 November, Russia launched an aerial assault against Ukraine, using 96 Shahed drones, one missile and Ukrainian air defenses.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force (UAF), the Russians launched guided aircraft missile Kh-59/69 in the airspace of Kursk Oblast and 96 attack-drones from Bryansk and PrimorskoAkhtarsk. By 9 am, air defenses confirmed the downing of one missile and 66 drones in Kyiv and other oblasts including Sumy, Khmelnytskyi Zhytomyr Cherkasy Chernihiv Kirovohrad Poltava Dnipropetrovsk Kharkiv.
