Ukrainian authorities report that the number of casualties from the Russian missile strike on residential buildings and a medical facility in Kryvyi Rih on October 28 has increased to 12 and one dead.
Serhii Lisak, Governor of Dnipropetrovsk oblast, reported that a 39-year-old died in hospital after the attack. According to the National Police, five people were rescued by the National Police from the partially damaged high-rise.
The attack destroyed 12 garages, and a fire spread over 500 square meters. It affected a residential building as well as several outbuildings.
Kryvyi Rih remains a target of Russian missile attacks. It is the hometown of Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, Moscow has used drones and missiles to attack military and civilian sites throughout the country. Kryvyi Rih is the second largest city in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with a population around 660,000. The city is located about 70 kilometers north of its nearest frontline zone.
