**Russia’s Attacks in Ukraine Result in One Death and Many Injuries**
Over the past day, Russian attacks across various regions of Ukraine have caused harm to civilians. According to regional authorities, at least one person has been killed and eight others injured.
**Ukrainian Air Defenses Active Against Russia’s Drone Attacks**
In response to Russia’s overnight drone attack, Ukrainian air defenses successfully shot down 45 out of the 85 Shahed-type drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Russia. In addition, electronic warfare countermeasures were used to disable 40 drones.
**Regional Breakdown of Russian Attacks**
* In Chernihiv Oblast, a police officer and a 16-year-old boy were injured in Russian shelling of the town of Semenivka.
* Four people were injured during a Russian attack against the village of Tsyrkuny in Kharkiv Oblast. The victims included three women aged 57, 62, and 75, and a 64-year-old man.
* In Kherson Oblast, one person was killed and two others were injured in Russian strikes. Three high-rise buildings, 11 houses, and an outbuilding were damaged.
* Russia launched a missile attack against the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight on Dec. 19. A hospital, a school, two nine-story buildings, and a shop were damaged. However, no casualties were reported.
* Russian forces carried out a missile strike against the town of Romny in Sumy Oblast, damaging nine residential buildings but inflicting no casualties.
**Other Affected Regions**
The Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts also came under attack. However, no casualties were reported in these regions.
