**Russian Attacks Kill at Least 2 in Ukraine**
Over the past day, Russian attacks across Ukraine have killed at least two people and injured at least 29. Regional authorities reported on January 22.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, three people were injured in Russian attacks against the Synelnykove district on January 21. Close to 70 houses in the area were damaged.
**Regional Breakdown**
* Donetsk Oblast: One civilian was killed and another injured in Pokrovsk.
* Kharkiv Oblast: 10 people were injured over the past day, including three police officers and two civilians during a drone attack in Kupiansk.
* Kherson Oblast: One civilian was killed and 11 others injured.
* Mykolaiv Oblast: A Russian drone strike injured a 74-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, and damaged a six-story residential building.
**Global Developments**
The US Secretary of State said that the conflict in Ukraine should end sustainably, without restarting in two or three years. The US has imposed new restrictions on financial institutions, blocking payments for Russian crude oil. India, which imports most of Russia’s oil, began blocking payments following these new restrictions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that at least 200,000 European soldiers would be needed to serve as peacekeepers in Ukraine’s eastern front for a peace deal to be enforced.
