Russian Attacks on Ukraine Leave Three Dead and 20 Injured
Over the past day, Russian attacks on Ukraine have resulted in three deaths and 20 injuries. This information was released by regional authorities on February 28.
Ukrainian forces were successful in downing 107 out of 208 drones launched by Russia overnight. The Air Force reported that many of these drones disappeared from radar without causing any damage. This is a common tactic used by Russia, where decoy drones are sent alongside real ones to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense.
In the city of Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone strike damaged three high-rise buildings and five houses. An 82-year-old woman was injured in the attack. Three apartments were destroyed by fire.
Three people lost their lives in the cities of Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka, as well as in the village of Torske in Donetsk Oblast. Seven more people were injured in the region over the past day.
Other areas targeted included Balakliia in Kharkiv Oblast, where an apartment building was destroyed, and residential areas near Kharkiv. A woman and a man suffered injuries in these attacks.
In Kherson Oblast, Russian forces targeted 36 settlements, including the regional center of Kherson. Seven people were injured as a result.
