**Some Russians Celebrate Ukrainian Drone Strikes on Moscow**
Russians living in areas near Ukraine have welcomed recent drone attacks against Moscow. This is according to intercepted phone calls released by Ukraine’s military intelligence.
The calls were made by people living in Belgorod and Bryansk oblasts, which border Ukraine. These regions often come under attack as they are where Russian forces launch missile and drone strikes against Ukrainian cities.
In one call, a woman said she was glad that Moscow was being attacked, saying “Let them be at least a little bit afraid”. She added that those living in Moscow should know what it’s like to live with the fear of drones flying overhead.
Another woman from Belgorod Oblast said that she had been kept awake by drones flying towards Moscow. She said that this showed that Ukraine was not just attacking Russian cities, but also its own territory.
The intercepted calls suggest that some Russians believe that Moscow is being treated too well and that it’s time for the city to feel the effects of war.
