**Investigation Service Responds to President’s Call**
The Special Investigation Service (SIS) has responded to a call by President Salome Zurabishvili. She had asked the head of the SIS, Koka Katsitadze, to meet with her.
According to the SIS, they are investigating an incident that happened in November/December this year. During a protest near the parliament building, police used violence against protesters and journalists. The SIS says it is conducting its investigation actively and will inform the public about its progress soon.
**Investigation into Police Violence**
The SIS said that law enforcement officers had overstepped their authority by using violence against protesters and journalists. They are investigating this incident under Article 333 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which deals with the misuse of official power.
President Zurabishvili had called for an urgent investigation into police violence after seeing footage of the incident. She said that her administration could not be contacted, and the SIS was directly responsible for investigating such incidents.
