New Head Appointed for Ministry of Finance’s Investigative Service
Irakli Beraia has been chosen to lead the investigative team at Georgia’s Ministry of Finance. This was decided by Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on April 2, 2025.
Beraia comes from a background in law. Before this new role, he worked as Deputy Minister of Justice. His past positions also include being a member of the Georgian Parliament for three terms, from 2016 to 2025.
According to information about Beraia, he was born on July 23, 1976. He graduated with honors in economics from Tbilisi State University in 1998. Before entering politics, Beraia had a successful career in the banking sector.
It’s worth noting that his predecessor, Soso Ramishvili, left the position just one day earlier.
