Georgian Politics in Focus
A debate has started in Georgia about the country’s future leaders. President Salome Zurabishvili recently said that a new generation is needed to lead the country.
However, some politicians disagree with her statement. They think she is trying to create a new team of supporters and present herself as someone from the younger generation.
Deputy Irakli Kadagishvili spoke to journalists about this issue. He said that President Zurabishvili‘s words are “the statement of a person looking into a crooked mirror”. This means that she is trying to present a false image of herself and others.
Kadagishvili also mentioned that the president might be preparing for new elections. He thinks she has “youthful energy” and wants to create a new team of supporters.
