Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the port at Anaklia would begin receiving its first ship by 2029.
Kobakhidze, who spoke at the presentation of Georgia’s election program, highlighted the strategic importance for the country‘s economic growth of the project.
He said that 600 million dollars would be invested in the first phase of Anaklia port. After the first phase is completed, the port’s capacity will be 600,000 containers per year.
The first phase of the project will be completed by 2029. The first ships will arrive at Anaklia Port by 2029. This port will have a capacity of 600,000 containers a year and will invest 600 million dollars in the first phase. Irakli Kabohidze said, “This is the most important project in terms of economic growth”.
