**Georgian PM: Protests are funded and aimed at overthrowing government**
In a recent statement, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze described the ongoing protests in the country as an attempt to overthrow the government through violent means.
Kobakhidze said that 300-350 people gather daily, which is a significant decrease from the large-scale violent protests that took place five days ago. He claimed that these current protests are organized by activist groups and NGOs, with some protesters even voluntarily contributing 5,000 GEL to the budget.

However, Kobakhidze stated that despite these efforts, the protesters are not achieving their desired outcome. He attributed this to the fact that the majority of the Georgian people will never support the opposition’s agenda.

Kobakhidze dismissed claims that protesters are distancing themselves from political parties, saying that their demand for snap elections contradicts such statements. He argued that if the opposition was truly independent, they would not be demanding new elections, which would likely benefit the United National Movement coalition.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the real reason for the protests is not any specific statement but rather the election results. He claimed that the protesters are trying to manipulate public opinion and force a new election, which would likely see the opposition’s preferred parties in power.
Kobakhidze concluded by saying that the government’s decision to end negotiations with the EU over Eurointegration was necessary to prevent constant blackmail and ensure the country’s stability.
