Georgia’s Prime Minister Talks About EU Membership
The situation in Georgia is stable, said the country‘s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. He added that Georgia is growing economically and in other areas as well.
Kobakhidze said that Georgia is ready to negotiate with the European Union about joining them. However, he noted that it’s up to the EU to decide when to start negotiations.
“We are firmly following the path of development for our country,” said Kobakhidze. “We’re making progress and will continue to do so.”
When asked if Georgia should wait 4 more years before starting talks, Kobakhidze said it depends on what the EU decides. He stated that improving relations with the EU is good for Georgia.
“We’ve made it clear that we’ll be ready if the EU decides to start negotiations,” said Kobakhidze. “Now, we’re waiting to see what approach they’ll take.”
